Danielle Funston RITP - Deputy President

Danielle is a Partner at Maddocks, specialising in restructuring and insolvency, and has over 18 years experience.

Danielle is recognised as an expert in the areas of restructuring and insolvency, advising on business and debt restructuring, schemes of arrangement, formal insolvencies and recovery actions.

Danielle acts for corporations, directors, lenders and insolvency practitioners, having worked across a wide range of industries, including construction, real estate, aviation, retail and the agricultural industry. She has particular expertise in managed investment schemes and has been involved in a number of cross border transactions, primarily between the United States, United Kingdom, China and Hong Kong. Her work has led her to being recognised as a leading Insolvency & Restructuring lawyer in Doyle's Guide and a ranked individual in the Chambers Asia-Pacific guide for 2023 in Restructuring & Insolvency.

Danielle has sat on the NSW/ACT Division Committee since 2017 and is current Chair of the Committee for the past 3 years. She is actively involved in education and has assisted the University of Technology Sydney as a guest lecturer in Insolvency. Danielle has also assisted in organising the past 6 NSW/ACT Division Conferences and presented at National, Division and SMP Conference. Danielle is a regular ARITA Workshop Leader and contributed to ARITA's Journal and case updates.

At the 2021 National AGM, Danielle was appointed a Director by the Board under s20.3 of the Constitution and in 2023 appointed as Deputy President.  Her Board duties include sitting on the Professional Conduct Committee and the Membership Committee.
