Transitioning IEP students

Information about ARITA Advanced Certification for students who are part-way through the Insolvency Education Program (IEP).

From 2016, ARITA Advanced Certification replaces the IEP. If you are part-way through the IEP and would like to continue your studies, your previous study can be credited towards ARITA Advanced Certification (with certain conditions). On completion of the required studies, ARITA will award you an Advanced Certificate.

Please review the information below for details of how you can complete ARITA Advanced Certification.

If you’ve completed Module 1 of the IEP

Module 1 of the IEP is the equivalent of the Advanced Insolvency elective subject in ARITA Advanced Certification.

To receive an Advanced Certificate in Insolvency you must complete the core subject of Fundamentals of Restructuring, Insolvency and Turnaround. You will also be required to complete self-study in receiverships and insolvency and trusts.

If you’ve completed Module 2 of the IEP

Module 2 of the IEP is the equivalent of the core subject Fundamentals of Restructuring, Insolvency and Turnaround in ARITA Advanced Certification.

To receive an Advanced Certificate you must complete one of the elective subjects: Advanced Insolvency or Advanced Restructuring and Turnaround. You will also be required to complete:

• an ethics case study
• self-study in defining and establishing insolvency.

If you have failed a component of the IEP

You will be required to redo the equivalent component in accordance with ARITA Advanced Certification.

If you haven’t submitted your ethics case study

You will need to complete it, either as part of the assessment tasks in Fundamentals of Restructuring and Turnaround or as a separate submission to ARITA if you complete your course with an elective subject.

How long do I have to complete my studies?

You have three years from the date of your initial enrolment in the IEP.
