The Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround association presented to the Parliamentary Joint Committee hearing into Australia’s corporate insolvency law at its Sydney hearing on Wednesday 14 December.

The Committee – chaired by Senator Deborah O’Neill and with Senator Paul Scarr, the Hon Keith Pitt and Ms Zaneta Mascarenhas MP in attendance – asked questions about ARITA’s recommendations on reform of Australia’s corporate insolvency laws, contained in its 90-page submission to the inquiry provided on 7 December.

Senator O'Neill began the hearing by thanking ARITA for the quality and thoroughness of its submission.

"I think it's a really high-quality submission. It's beautifully written and it takes us to some critical issues," O'Neill said.

ARITA was represented at the hearing by President Michael Brereton, CEO John Winter, Technical and Standards Director Narelle Ferrier and Special Adviser Dr Warren Mundy.
