Danielle Funston
is a Partner at Maddocks, specialising in restructuring and insolvency, and has
nearly 20 years’ experience specialising in restructuring and insolvency. She
is widely recognised for her expertise in business and debt restructuring,
schemes of arrangement, formal insolvency appointments, and recovery actions.
Danielle advises corporations, directors, lenders, and insolvency practitioners
across a wide range of sectors, including construction, real estate, aviation,
retail and agriculture. She also has deep experience in managed investment
schemes and cross-border transactions involving the US, UK, China and Hong
Kong.
Danielle is
ranked in Chambers Asia-Pacific for Restructuring & Insolvency and
recognised as a leading practitioner in Doyle’s Guide. A strong contributor to
industry education, she has guest lectured at UTS, presented at ARITA’s
National, Division and SMP Conferences, regularly leads ARITA workshops, and
writes for ARITA publications. Danielle has served on the NSW/ACT Division
Committee since 2017 and was Chair from 2020 to 2024. She was appointed a
Director of ARITA in 2021 under s 20.3 of the Constitution, became Deputy
President in 2023, and Vice President in 2024 and 2025. She is currently Chair
of the Membership Committee.
