Mike Hayes RITF - Vice President

Mike is a partner of national law firm, Piper Alderman, and has over 30 years experience in dispute resolution and insolvency, restructuring and turnaround.

Mike acts for administrators, liquidators, receivers and trustees nationally (and previously abroad) in all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency. He further acts for directors and creditors and his experience in acting for stakeholders allows him to see claims from both sides and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve sound commercial outcomes.  He also acts for financial institutions and advises on debt management and risk.

Mike regularly presents on insolvency topics to various stakeholders including Regulators. He coordinates the national Piper Alderman Personal Insolvency Forum. He has a keen interest in corporate governance.

For ARITA, Mike is a committee member of the ARITA SA/NT Division, and a former Chair of that committee.  He is a course leader of ARITA's Advanced Certification program and serves on two national ARITA Committees - the Membership Committee and is the Deputy Chair of the Professional Conduct Committee (PCC). Mike also serves on the ARITA Executive as Vice President. 

Mike was made a Fellow of ARITA in 2017 and joined the Board in 2019.

Mike is a Board member of the South Australian Rugby Union and an active referee.
