Scott Atkins RITF, Deputy President

Scott Atkins is a Partner of Norton Rose Fulbright, an Australian law firm recognised for its leading insolvency and restructuring practice. Scott specialises in insolvency, restructuring and banking dispute resolution.

He has 17 years' experience advising banks, financiers and insolvency practitioners, including seven years as in-house counsel with one of Australia's four banks.

Scott's expertise includes security enforcement, receiverships, cross-border insolvency, voluntary administrations, liquidations, workouts, corporate restructuring and banker/ customer disputes. His insolvency work has covered a broad range of industry sectors including more recently property, manufacturing and financial services.

He is an INSOL International Director and a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association's NSW Chapter Committee. He is also a course leader of ARITA's Insolvency Education Program and a member of ASIC's Insolvency Practitioners Liaison Committee for the NSW region.

Scott writes for the Insolvency Law Journal, and other leading industry and academic journals on banking and insolvency issues. Scott is on the editorial committee of International Corporate Rescue.

In 2017, Scott was made a Fellow of ARITA.
