National Conference 2019
The 2019 ARITA National Conference was held at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne with over 200 delegates and speakers from both Australia and overseas. The two-day event featured 36 well-respected experts and thought leaders giving presentations and masterclasses on a range of topical issues.

David Kelly, Partner, PwC, UK - The Carillion Collapse
In January 2018 Carillion collapsed which triggered a significant headache for the UK Government. Australian ex-pat David Kelly, PwC Partner and Lead Special Manager on Carillion, shared his experience working alongside the Official Receiver from the UK Insolvency Service to deliver the liquidation strategy. David described the circumstances leading to the appointment, the role of the Official Receiver, the challenges the liquidator faced and the wide reaching consequences on the UK public sector and restructuring processes.
Georgie Harman, CEO, Beyond Blue - Financial Distress & Mental Health
Georgie Harman was appointed as CEO of Beyond Blue in May 2014 where she has led a significant expansion of effort and results in service innovation, suicide prevention and digital solutions. Georgie discussed the impact of financial stress on mental health and wellbeing, the importance of better engaging with people in these situations and tips from Beyond Blue.

Conference Dinner & Welcome Reception
We kicked off the 2019 National Conference with our cocktail Welcome Reception on Tuesday 23 July. The QT Rooftop Bar provided the perfect location to view the spectacular Melbourne city skyline while taking in the heart and soul of Melbourne from above.

Our Conference Dinner took place at one of Melbourne's most iconic venues, the luxurious Plaza Ballroom. The dinner, on Wednesday 24 July, followed on from Day 1 of the Conference and during pre-dinner drinks and a three-course meal, guests were entertained by some live entertainment.
