IPA unable to investigate complaint subject to a Deed of Settlement

The IPA received a complaint regarding alleged false statements made and relied on by a Receiver and Manager in relation to the termination of the complainant's employment.

The IPA's investigations revealed that the complainant was party to a Deed of Settlement in which he absolutely and irrevocably released the Receiver and Manager from any claims in relation to the matters raised in the complaint.  The deed defined claims to include complaints.

Given the terms of the Deed of Settlement, the IPA determined that it would not be appropriate to investigate the matter further.
