Bankruptcy panel

An interactive panel will discuss the reforms proposed in the Bankruptcy Amendment (Enterprise Incentives) Bill 2017 and the Bankruptcy Amendment (Debt Agreement Reform) Bill 2018 and their implications for individuals. Plus remuneration reviews and the key factors in managing appointments to minimise the chance of the occurring.

The panel will also consider a recent article in the AFSA Personal Insolvency Regulator on proportionality and remuneration, which may have surprised readers. Is this a new paradigm or just common sense?

Another essential issue for discussion are mental health issues of bankrupts. It seems that an increasing proportion of bankrupts frequently site this as a reason for their bankruptcy and subsequent non-compliance. How should Practitioners tread in these circumstances?

Finally, the panel will consider income contribution disputes and how can practitioners should approach this aspect.

Panellists include:

  • Mark Findlay, Director, Regulation and Enforcement, AFSA;
  • David Mansfield, Partner, Restructuring Services, Deloitte Financial Advisory; and
  • Bruce Gleeson, Principal, Jones Partners Insolvency & Business Recovery.
