We are fortunate to have Adrian Brown in Perth to discuss ASIC’s plans for the year ahead, and to hear first-hand ASIC’s approach to regulating the profession especially in light of the Insolvency Law Reform Act 2016, Government’s mooted industry funding model for ASIC and intention to implement safe harbour/ipso facto reforms.
Industry update panel:
Mining: Andrew Bantock, Senior Managing Director, FTI Consulting
Hospitality: Jamie Rhodes, Director, Marston Hospitality Services

What is happening in some of the industries important to WA? What are the important developments? What are the issues facing the participants in those industries? Our panel of experts will give us an insight into the answers to these questions in the four industry sectors of mining, hospitality, oil & gas and energy.

The half-day conference will be followed by a great opportunity to network at the dinner with pre-dinner drinks and a sit-down three course meal.
This year's after-dinner speaker is Grant Dorrington, BEM OAM:
Make time to reflect
It is very easy in today’s busy world to forget just what an amazing gift life is. Many times it is not until the end of our life journey that we realise just what is important and what is not. Our dinner speaker, Grant Dorrington, will talk about the importance of continually taking time out to reflect upon the work life and family to ensure we get the balance right, while discussing his career with the WA Football Commission and his experience setting up the Fremantle Dockers.
