ARITA's National Conference is the premier professional development event that brings together the who’s who of Australia’s restructuring, insolvency and turnaround profession.

The two-day conference program will cover a wide range of timely and important topics, with highly relevant keynotes and panel discussions. Headline speakers confirmed:

  • KEYNOTE: The Hon Justice Ashley Black, Supreme Court of New South Wales will share his thoughts on developments in insolvency

  • Leading Non-Executive Director Diane Smith-Gander will explore the role of NEDs in guiding turnarounds and approaching financial distress

  • Carl Gunther, Partner, KPMG will introduce a new default indicator for Australian listed companies

The Conference will kick off with our Welcome Reception on Tuesday 8 August at the stunning Garden State Hotel, around the corner from the conference venue. The popular networking Dinner will take place following Day 1 of the Conference, on Wednesday 9 August, at the iconic waterside venue, Peninsula at Docklands.

Our popular Conference Dinner (Wednesday 9 August) takes place at the waterfront location Peninsula (Shed 14 - Central Pier), Docklands.

Inspired by London’s Tate Modern Museum, the space features 9 metre high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, and the longest chandelier in the Southern Hemisphere.

Guests will enjoy pre-dinner drinks from the outdoor deck area followed by a sit-down three course dinner in the magnificent atmosphere of this iconic harbourside venue.

Our networking Welcome Reception (Tuesday 8 August) takes place in the stunning Rose Garden at the Garden State Hotel on Flinders St, just around the corner from the conference venue.

Catch up with colleagues and meet new industry contacts informally before the conference kicks off, with drinks and canapés served throughout.


ARITA delegates are able to enjoy reduced rates of $260 per night (incl. GST) at the conference venue, the 5-star Sofitel Melbourne on Collins for 8-9 August.

The rate is for a Classic room with city views (King or Twin) with discounted breakfast rates on offer of $25 per person (reduced from $45) - to be requested on arrival at check in, not online. 

For guests wanting to extend their stay beyond the conference dates, the rate is subject to availability.
